I'm Moving!!!

Hi readers (if there are still any of you out there!),

I apologise for my incredible lack of blogging...but I'm moving! I officially get the keys next Monday and I have so much to do before then. Who knew building a house was so much work??

Anyway, you probably won't hear from me until next week, once I have moved. I'm so excited and can't wait to decorate and share it with you!

My house - latest update

Happy Monday!

I only have to work two days this week and then 5 days off! Hooray! I'm probably going to check out the new Ikea in Sydney - it claims to be the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere...I'll let you know how I go!

I finally have the date I get the keys for my new place...12th Dec. A bit later than what I thought, but at least it's before Xmas!

House Update...

I haven't posted anything for a while about my house progress. I went 'on site' on Saturday. The interior is nearly finished! Hooray!!

Only a few more weeks and I'll be moving! Check out the progress photos below.

So I finally got to see inside my house this weekend! It is now to 'lock up' so I have to wait for an agent to let me in. I have walls people! And kitchen cabinets. And a bathroom vanity...

I'm getting really excited now! Only about two months to go...

House Update...

Just a quick house update for all of you following along at home...

I have a roof! And guttering...

No capping on the roof as yet, but if you look closely I also have two rows of bricks. It's getting a bit exciting now!

Hopefully this terrible weather we have been having will GO AWAY, so the exterior can be finished...then for the fun part!

More house photos

So I went and visited my little house on the weekend...

I now have walls (well sort of - still a bit breezy though!).

When I visited a few weeks ago, the concrete slab felt very small...now with walls and the space defined it feels so much bigger!

It's quite exciting...I apologise for the amount of posts already about my house and for the ones to come in the future! The building of the house is ruling my life at the moment!

Sneaky purchase

Look what I bought over the long weekend!

I broke the spending ban and bought three of the smaller hanging candle holders. They will look fantastic in my new place! Now I just need to decide where to hang them...

Choosing Caesarstone

Today is the big day that I need to 'lock in' my house colour choices. It has been very difficult deciding - but in the end I went for the scheme that I was drawn to first (this is often the right one - don't you find?)

As I'm upgrading my benchtops to quartz stone, I had to really quickly decide upon this yesterday. In the end I went for ice snow - it has the quartz crystals in it that reflect the colour of my cupboards.

My little piece of concrete...

I visited my new patch of dirt on the weekend to discover that I have a concrete slab!

I'm very excited - it will be very interesting to see the place come together over the coming months.

Choosing Kitchen Colours...

Happy Monday Morning!

I'm back to work today after having three weeks off to move. Ugh! The alarm went off and it was a definite struggle to get out of bed.

Anyways, last week I had to decide upon my kitchen colours for my new place. I had four colour schemes to choose from, and there were elements of each that I didn't really like.

Below is the scheme I'm going for, though hopefully minus the benchtop colour (I'm hopefully upgrading to stone!).

Benchtop Colour - Kashmir Granite Laminex (Ugh!)

Bottom cupboard colour - Stipple Seal Laminex

Top cupboard colour - Parchment Laminex (it is a bit difficult to see!)

What do you think? It was such a difficult decision!

Aboriginal Art for my new home...

I've always been interested in Australian Aboriginal Art since I was at school. I remember visiting a local art gallery and being amazed at the level of detail, movement and colour in the artworks. Following Viv from Ish and Chi purchasing a number of artworks for her home, it inspired me to look for some pieces for my new place. Below is Viv's artwork in the latest Adore Magazine.

Her place is beautiful, right?

Below are the two pieces I chose for my new place. The first is by Raelene Stevens and the second is by Caroline Numina.

Both pieces I purchased via ebay (the first after missing out a number of times at the auction!) and I think they complement each other nicely. Both very eye catching with lovely colour!

My Home on Made by Girl...

I'm very, very excited today! My former home has been featured on my favourite blog - Made by Girl! Let me tell you, I can't stop smiling right now!

SOLD!!!

So I have finally moved and sold my little house. I have moved in with a friend for six months until my new house is built.

My cat, Josie and I are adjusting slowly. Any tips for settling a slightly nervous kitty?

I'm so glad that the move has finally finished! It was such a stressful time...I'm now on holidays for another week and a half so I should have some time to relax (I might even check out the new Zara in Sydney!)

My Courtyard

In my final post about my home, I thought I would show you some photos of my garden/courtyard area. I had to quickly finish the area so my place was ready to sell!
